Real editable text, with a review step
This converter uses the positions and sizes of PDF text to reconstruct paragraphs and headings. It can infer reading order in simple columns and rebuild repeated aligned short cells into editable tables. The Word download contains text and table cells you can change, rather than whole-page pictures presented as editable content.
PDF and Word arrange documents differently. Original positioning, page breaks, typography and table structure may not match exactly after conversion. Check the editable preview beside the original PDF before downloading, and refine final pagination in Word. Signatures, interactive fields, vector artwork and exact original font programs are not recreated.
Select pages and recognise scans
Open a PDF up to 50 MB and 100 pages. Enter all, individual page numbers or ranges such as 1, 3-5. Convert up to 50 pages per job; recognition of scanned pages is limited to 20 per job to control device load. A password-protected PDF asks for the password you already know and opens locally.
Automatic recognition reads existing text first and recognises pages with little usable text. For a page that mixes selectable text with an unrecognised scan, select Recognise every page. Choose English, Hindi, Marathi or a combined option. Recognition is designed for clear printed text; review spellings, amounts and other important details.
A simple preview, with editing when needed
The result appears as a continuous paper document, with paragraphs, headings, tables and images. Click text or a table cell to correct it. A small toolbar appears for the selected content so you can change its style, move or delete it, and manage table rows. Select Done to return to the clean preview. Add text when needed, and use View original to compare with the PDF.
Optional panels contain page ranges and scanned text settings, Word appearance, find and replace, and text downloads. Keep the default appearance or choose original paper dimensions, A4 or US Letter, margins, font, text sizes, source-page breaks and page numbers. Supported original raster images can be extracted, with limits of six per page and twenty-four per job. Whole-page scan backgrounds are omitted so the Word file remains editable.
Local processing and practical limits
PDF reading, scan recognition, image extraction and Word generation happen on your device. The website serves the required processing files without receiving your PDF or password. Processing engines load on demand; native text conversion normally needs fewer resources than scan recognition.
Cancel retains completed pages for review and download. Large scans, complicated artwork, merged table cells, unusual writing direction or corrupted font encodings may need a clearer source or manual correction. The converter explains missing images and detected layout uncertainty in the page preview. No conversion can promise perfect reconstruction of every PDF.
Frequently asked questions
›Will my Word file really contain editable text?
Yes, when text is found or recognised. Paragraphs and rebuilt table cells are editable DOCX content. The tool does not create an image-only Word document and call it editable. If no editable content is found, Word download is unavailable until text is added or recognised.
›Can I convert a scanned PDF?
Yes. Automatic mode recognises pages without enough usable text. Choose Recognise every page for scans with partial existing text. Select the matching language and review the recognised words before downloading. Up to 20 scanned pages can be recognised per job.
›Will every table or page layout look identical?
No. Simple aligned tables and columns are inferred from text positions. Complex merged cells, floating objects, unusual layouts and original fonts may require adjustment. The preview lets you review and correct the content before export.
›How does a password-protected PDF work?
Enter the PDF password when asked. It is used locally to decrypt the source for conversion and is not stored. The tool cannot recover or bypass an unknown password.
›What happens to original images?
When enabled, supported original raster images are extracted and inserted alongside editable text. Up to six per page and twenty-four per job are included. Whole-page scan backgrounds, very large images and unsupported image objects are omitted with a review note where applicable.
›Is my PDF sent to a server?
No. Conversion, recognition and DOCX creation run in your browser. The website supplies the processing resources. Your PDF, password and edited content are not sent to an external conversion service.
